Eamon Vest
Covered with spiraling faux cables, this classic children’s vest is sized for 12 months through 12 years and is worked in worsted weight yarn. The Eamon makes a great layering garment for any child! The mock cable pattern may easily be worked without a cable needle.

Materials
- Worsted weight yarn, approx 230 (260, 300, 390, 475, 540, 600) yds/210.5 (238, 274.5, 356.5, 434.5, 494, 548.5) meters
- US size 8 (5 mm) 16”/40.5 cm and 24”/61 cm circular needle (2) or size needed to achieve gauge
- US size 8 (5 mm) set of dpn or size needed to achieve gauge

Knitting in the round, cables, decreases, picking up sts, 3-needle BO
Yarn used: Elsebeth Lavold Classic AL, size 6 (gold); Brown Sheep Nature Spun Worsted, size 12 months (sage green).
Construction
Vest is worked from the bottom up. The lower body is worked in the round to the armholes and the chest pieces are worked flat separately and then joined at the shoulders with 3-needle BO. The collar and armhole edges are picked up and worked in the round in 1/1 rib. The mock cable pattern may easily be worked without a cable needle.
